Every city in California regulates parking lot striping through its municipal code. These local codes govern stall dimensions, drive aisle widths, required markings, and surface materials. On top of local codes, every California property must also comply with three statewide requirements that supersede local rules wherever they are stricter: the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) / CBC Title 24, the California Fire Code (CFC), and California Green Building Standards (Cal Green / Title 24 Part 11) for EV charging spaces.
The code links below point directly to official municipal code libraries (Municode, American Legal, Codepublishing). All links verified as of 2026 — if a link has changed, the code citation will help you locate the current version. For expert compliance guidance, contact Bowman Line Striping Inc or review our complete California parking lot compliance guide.
⚖️ Statewide Requirements — Apply in Every California City
